According to the designers, the chicest way to wear polka dots is black dots on a white background. The SS18 catwalk was full of feminine soft white dresses and ruffled blouses dusted with black polka dots. Rodarte’s stunning show featured grown-up polka dots in an array of colours and yet, the standout design had to be the white polka dot skirt and blouse that has since been worn by A-listers such as Millie Bobby Brown and Kirsten Dunst.

White polka dots can be very soft and girly, so if you want to give this monochrome print an edge, why not try pairing with another season staple like a leather bomber, or layering in some bold colours with the addition of a burnt-orange blazer.
