Everyone is wearing polka dots, they’re the perfect print to transition through the seasons and are an easy way to make an outfit interesting with minimum effort.

The high street is full of the white on black dotted print, however that said, some brands are branching out into a more colourful array of dots to get you into a summer frenzy.

Zara for example, has created the classic black and brown polka dot trousers, while also stocking a ladybird-like red and black blouse - oh so chic.

Further to this, there are plenty of pastel polka dots to be found as our online-fav's Missguided and Nobody’s Child, where a full range of red and navy spotty pieces can be discovered - perfect for injecting some colour into your SS wardrobe.

According to the designers, the chicest way to wear polka dots is black dots on a white background.

The SS18 catwalk was full of feminine soft white dresses and ruffled blouses dusted with black polka dots. Rodarte’s stunning show featured grown-up polka dots in an array of colours and yet, the standout design had to be the white polka dot skirt and blouse that has since been worn by A-listers such as Millie Bobby Brown and Kirsten Dunst.

And now, you too can nail this look. Check out the sleek and modern fit of this black-on-white blouse. At £59 it might not be the cheapest item to grace your wardrobe, but it will certainly be the most stylish!

Carolina Herrera

Jason Wu and Carolina Herrera also incorporated these sophisticated dots into their shows. Jason Wu mixed prints for a more alternative take on the dots, while Carolina Herrera showed us that you can wear bold powerful polka dots against classic-rouge without looking like Minnie Mouse.

Pair this stunning Topshop look-alike with your favourite suede boots to achieve the same show-stopper effect.

White polka dots can be very soft and girly, so if you want to give this monochrome print an edge, why not try pairing with another season staple like a leather bomber, or layering in some bold colours with the addition of a burnt-orange blazer.

This Other Stories dress, for example, would look fabulous with a seasonal lilac trench coat, or some knee-high boots.
