Adding to their impressive list of renowned design collabs, including Kenzo, Isabel Marant and more recently Balmain, the highly anticipated Erdem X H&M collection, this week, revealed. Deemed by Vogue as ‘disrupting the fast fash collab narrative’, Erdem's AW pieces follow the gorgeous moody floral style that the designer is so famous for; classic Victorian sophistication mixed with an ultra-luxurious edge, whilst also pushing on current trends. The collection transports Erdem’s glorious and typically high end looks, into much more affordable and wearable alternatives, starting with accessories and basics moving up into to chic coats and furs. Prominent pieces within the range scream power, elegance, and glamour; a series of vintage class intertwined with modern styling. Made up of the structured tailoring this season is oh-so-fond of, and softer
pyjama trend styles, mixed with romantic dresses and accessories, the pieces are just the right mix of sultry and sophisticated with feminine fun.
Turning his hand to menswear for the first time, the men's range is formal with a strong heritage vibe, in keeping to that of the womenswear designs, while still incorporating the heavily floral and romanticism twist.
Moralioglo himself describing the design process, said he wanted to create looks and pieces to share through genders - think a suit which is fitted and suave on a man, yet fierce and righteous on a woman. Or florals which can be both sexy and glamorous, but soft and alluring.
The Erdem X H&M show debuted on the 18th with images of celebrities adorned in dark flowers and making a show of their own on Instagram; Zendaya, Kate Bosworth and Alexa Chung to name a few.
The collection is available in stores and online from 2nd November.
