We all love browsing through a best-dressed edit or two after the award shows. But have you ever wondered if it might be possible to recreate those stunning looks on a real-life budget?

Well, I’m here to tell you, it’s 100% doable. Check out my five favourite picks from the MTV VMAs, and find out how you can steal that best-dress style:

Nothing screams class more than Zara Laarson’s classic 80’s look. With padded shoulders and a tucked in waistline, this look is well-on-trend, with the au naturel makeup and slicked back hair only adding to the aura of sophistication.

To steal Zara's 80's style, this flattering LBD from Lipsy ticks all the boxes. And while, of course, nothing high-street could ever quite tally up with those stunning Charlotte Olympia sandals, the up side of these platforms from Rebellious Fashion, is that they will only set you back a mere £13.99.

Heading up the tulle, 13-year-old Millie Bobby Brown took to her first VMA invite under her wing, appearing on best-dressed lists everywhere. This rock-chic sensation was definitely one of the stand-out looks of the night, with the chunky boots giving the sassy teenager that extra lil’ kick of cool.

ASOS stock a very pretty lace smock dress with fluted sleeves which, paired with a pair of black lace up boots will have you on your way to nailing this rock-star vibe.

However, while most of her outfit might be a little out of our price-range, Millie's delicate hair combs can be easily ordered online, coming in at only $68.00 a slide – yes… only!

A definite standout on the blue carpet was the 19-year-old American model, Paris Jackson dressed to impress in Christian Dior and Jimmy Choo.

While you might be hard pushed to find anything quite as tapestry-esque as this Dior design, Urban Outfitters have a beautiful floral dress now selling off at a whopping half-price in the end of season sales.

Worn with a simple pair of nude sandals, this look will certainly be a showstopper for Freshers season.

Unashamedly going for the best-dressed slot, VMA host, Katy Perry arrived wearing a stunning Stephane Rolland gown. Sleek and stylish, and not at all her usual thing, Katy Perry proved she really can scrub up well.

This one-shoulder midi-dress from ASOS might not be the real deal, but it's definitely more practical for a student night out, and still has that oh-so-desirable asymmetric thing going on. Plus, with these bargain £3.99 earrings from Forever 21, there won't be any doubt whose look you're after!

For me though, it was the natural beauty of American actress Yara Shahidi who really stole the scene. Looking about as effortlessly glamorous as is possible to get in heels that dainty, Yara stunned in this mystic Zimmerman gown, the stunning shade of burnt gold complimenting her gorgeous skin-tone and bringing out those ethnic-traditional gold-plated earrings.

So, while at £80 this dress might not be the cheapest I've picked out, it will definitely get heads turning for all the right reasons. And, paired with these simple metallic sandals for only an extra £13.50, you’d have to mad not to give it whirl.

Oh, and FYI…

Yara’s MALI earrings are only $55. You know, just in case you were curious…
