British beauty blogger Lewys Ball, 17, has just been named the first ever male ambassador of make-up brand Rimmel London, in their campaign 'Edge Your Look'.

Ball is among other faces, including Portia Ferrari and model Maddi Waterhouse, involved in a campaign that's said to "embrace diversity" and to promote self love.

Commenting on the announcement, Ball said: “When they contacted me a couple of months ago I was super excited! I've always loved Rimmel and doing the shoots were so much fun. My first makeup product was actually from Rimmel so it's super surreal for me.”

The message at the heart of the campaign is crushing gender stereotypes; proving firsthand that its not just girls that can wear makeup - guys can too.

The statement is loud and clear - makeup is art; plain and simple… and anyone can rock it.

Ball said: “I think it's quite a surprise at how many men are actually interested and even wear make-up day to day, to just cover up some imperfections they may not feel confident about.

“By including men in makeup campaigns it shows everyone that it's normal for men to wear makeup, and allows them to feel more confident wearing it and helps break the gender stereotypes. I think brands are starting to see that men are using make-up, even if it's borrowing their girlfriend's or sister's foundation.”

Fans are now being encouraged to share their makeup looks, whilst sporting the signature ‘double-L’ pose (using the thumb and index finger) on social media using the hashtag “#EdgeYourLook”
