twenty one pilots have had a whirlwind 12 months. Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, the band are now ready to land their label debut album Vessel in the UK. The duo, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, quickly attracted serious label attention after two self-released albums in 2009 and 2011 and a sellout show in their hometown. The EP, Three Songs, was released in 2012 and the band have had an international following since. Known for their uncontrollable on-stage energy and distinctive combination of piano and sync driven tones with a intense, lyrical edge. The band focuses on the preservation of their personal joy and their band name originates in Arthur Miller’s play, ‘All My Sons’. Signed by Fueled by Ramen, the band has worked with Greg Wells, the highly acclaimed producer known for working with Adele, Weezer and Aerosmith, on their first full-length album with the label. Vessel sees twenty one pilots building on their indie rocktronica with the track ‘Holding On To You’ prompting American music site, Billboard, to hail the couple’s ‘wind-up toy of a single’ as irresistible ‘saccharine punk rap’. Having already sold out one London show, twenty one pilots are, as MTV hailed, ones to watch grow for 2013. Pick up the band’s album Vessel on 3rd June.
