Beer, bratwurst, costume parades and a lot of laughter. German people surely know how to greet autumn and with over 6 million visitors from Bavaria, USA, Switzerland and Italy, Octoberfest is a festival everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime.

If you are a UK student, however, chances are that you won’t have the time to jump over to Munich for the weekend, as Octoberfest dates match with Induction and Freshers weeks and generally- with the start of the university year. And so, if we can’t go to Octoberfest, Octoberfest can be brought to us. Thanks to Nathan Reed, who organises a series of events across the country to make sure you can experience the beer fest spirit, without having to stray too far away from your accommodation.

This year UK’s Octoberfest events will be celebrated across the UK in a series of events taking place in Leamington Spa (22 Sep), Woking (29 Sep), Chichester (13 Oct), Salisbury (20 Oct) and Chester (27 Oct). Visitors will be able to enjoy delightful German beers in Steins, mouthwatering pretzels and bratwurst with Oompah bands, games and competiotions providing the entertainment. All of that set up in a traditional Bavarian style beer hall.

The event organiser, Nathan Reed says: “The British love beer as much as any, and we love the spirit of Oktoberfest so we’ve tried to capture the essence of the festival at our events up and down the country! With the authentic German beer and food, and the entertainment and atmosphere that make this festivity like nothing else out there, we hope you'll come and join us for some fun! Oh, and we strongly recommend guests dress up too, it’s all part of the fun.”

And as we know students are always worried about budget, we can assure you the tickets to the events are very reasonably priced. For small groups and couples, individual tickets can be purchased from an early bird price starting at £13.50 plus booking fee, but they are expected to sell out soon, so don’t hesitate too much.  For groups of eight people, table reservations are available for the price of £60 (in addition to an admission ticket) which includes two free pitchers of beer.

Bring your mates, get your steins and let the beer flow!
