With the hottest day of 2018 safely in the history (or so we are told) we are sure you had a lot of ice cream to go through it, or even the past week.
Although the perfect summer treat, ice cream is still considered not quite on the healthy spectrum, especially if you’re trying to exercise or keep in shape.
While this is true for the majority of the brands available on the market, Londoners had the chance to literally have ice cream fall from the sky into their lap- and not feel a scoop of guilt after. All thanks to Halo Top- the low calorie ice cream, which contains between 280-360 calories and 18-20 grams of protein per tub – yes, really!
Visitors to Tower Bridge celebrated one of the hottest days of the year yesterday as they were given over 10,000 samples of free Halo Top ice cream.
Halo Top, America’s ice cream sensation, which launched in the UK early this year, just announced three new flavours; Birthday Cake, Red Velvet and Oatmeal Cookie. To mark this new launch, they put up a giant 10-ft ice cream tub which was raised in the air by 2,900 colourful helium balloons over Tower Bridge and unveiled an ice cream pop-up bar at Potters Field, where passengers were given a taste of the new flavours . If you were there that day you were sure to get some unique pictures.
But fear not, because even if you did not get your hands on a free sample, Halo Top’s Birthday Cake, Red Velvet and Oatmeal Cookie flavours will be officially available nationwide in Tesco, Whole Foods and on Ocado from mid-July.
The three new flavours that will be available include:
Birthday Cake – Get that birthday feeling every day with this celebratory treat full of colourful sprinkles and the taste of homemade birthday cake
Red Velvet – A tasty twist on the famous cake, this luxurious flavour is sure to satisfy all your summer cravings with its irresistible brownie bits
Oatmeal Cookie – A tub full of oatmeal chunks, cinnamon spice and creamy texture will surely rival your favourite baked treats
